The Goal of FACES

The goal of the FACES project is to promote civil societies and intercultural dialogue through an unprecedented photo documentation of fascinating diversity of the peoples of our world. With "globalization" being a present phenomenon, nations and continents draw closer and require a better understanding of each other. The FACES Project is to capture and preserve, through a variety of media, the uniqueness people groups - their cultures, languages and heritage. It will create a mirror of the fascinating diversity of mankind in the third millennium. These photographs will promote a better understanding for each other and in turn will promote dialogue aimed at reducing the level of conflict in our world.

The project's aim is to portray faces of our world today and the unique characteristics of peoples and nations. Each documentation reflects the “FACE” of a specific group and serves as an ambassador sharing the uniqueness of people groups, their values and their unique contributions with an enduring global community so that they are perceived in a better light. In the same time FACES gives a voice to those who have no voice even though we live in today’s age of communication.

Respect and trust are nourished and flourish through knowledge and understanding. For the peoples of the world to respect and trust each other, which are the foundations for lasting peace, they must first know and understand each other.
